MLB World Series 2018,

FOX Sports

This was Technician Film's seventh year providing production services to FOX Sports for the World Series broadcast. One of the annual assignments is to  capture dramatic video portraits with the Major League players. Here, a BTS photo shows a set that was designed and built remotely, then reassembled in the concourse of Fenway Stadium. Player portraits were filmed with the Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers over a two day period, and were incorporated throughout the  broadcast of the World Series to enhance the live game and provide additional content for commercials and promotional materials.

NCAA Big East Tournament

Technician Films has been enlisted several years in a row to help design and film the visual elements to be used during the broadcast of the Big East Tournament from Madison Square Garden. In this particular instance a 5000 square foot studio space located in central Manhattan was utilized to build the set which included 3 large walls of high resolution video monitors with custom motion graphics, integrated intelligent lighting, and real-world elements including a regulation NCAA basketball goal and even the college basketball players themselves. By designing various lighting sequences coordinated with the motion graphics we were able to create a variety of distinct looks that could be changed instantaneously, allowing the client to efficiently generate a large and varied selection of content that they integrated into dozens of commercials, promotions and opening game teases throughout the week-long broadcast.

Three Cushions Billiards Promo

For this project we were hired to provide production services for an invitational Billiards tournament. The client requested artistic footage of the billiards players shooting around on a billiards table, along with interviews with each player. To accomplish this multiple rooms were set up within a hotel ballroom - one with a billiards table, one with custom printed backdrops for interviews, and a third room for portrait photos with each player. Technician Films provided crew, camera gear, L&G and creative design services to assist the broadcaster in their efforts. The shoot included one day of setup and one day of shooting, which yielded enough content to create player profiles, tournament features and creative elements to use consistently over the course of the seven day tournament.
